Sacred South - Sacred Sites in Alabama

Discover the "Sedona of the South" by experiencing sacred sites in Alabama that hold specific focused energy, enhancing our connection to the divinity of Earth. Our ancestors knew that vortexes were energy centers that were to be considered holy and often marked the site with monuments and held ceremonies. Visiting a sacred site uplifts the group and individual consciousness and fortifies our soul. When we directly experience the energy center a healing occurs for the Earth as well

We have many unnatural energies from the television, cell phone, computers and artificial lighting, polluting our body’s and the earth’s energy fields. Our busy lifestyles can keep us in stressful situations and away from nature for extended periods of time. Now more than ever we need to reconnect to a natural environment to be balanced and whole.

Natural earth energy bands are the same frequency as our own brain waves so we can easily detect the subtle vibrations if we tune in while visiting the nature site. In high magnetic fields, brain waves increase, nerve cells increase in activity as well. We are magnets with legs! You often feel increased heart rate, tingling, change of mood, altered states of consciousness and a deep sense of familiarity and connection when experiencing vortex energies.

Ley lines are natural energy circuits moving across the surface of the Earth. This circuit has definite points of entrance and exit. Solar rays intersect with water either above or below the surface, emitting a strong wave pattern which travels vertically, then across the surface of the land. Dowsing rods and pendulums can be used to detect ley line energies.

Vortex energies have a strong affect on the landscape often creating twisted tree trunks, cup or scoop marks in stones, unusually vibrant vegetation and the distinct leaning inward of the trees and other vegetation toward the vortex or ley line.

One such site my husband Jim and I have discovered is Dismals Canyon, located in northwest Alabama, near Russellville. Tucked a few miles off Hwy 8, this mystical canyon fits every single definition of a sacred site. Only a mile long, you cannot imagine your transformation, as soon as you descend the stairs to the floor of the canyon at the foot of Rainbow Waterfall. Its beauty stuns you into silence and you breathe deeply as the mundane world falls away.

The anomalies present in this tiny paradise are numerous and fascinating to witness. Once an ancient swamp, this sunken forest is beautiful and supernatural, a hidden treasure of trees, ferns, moss and mystery. The tallest hemlock tree in the world, over 350 years old, grows in this canyon, hundreds of miles away from any other Canadian hemlocks. Tiny gnats that glow in the dark cover the giant boulders like secret constellations, thrilling visitors on the night tours. The floor of the canyon is about fourteen degrees cooler than the surface and most amazingly, there are no mosquitos, flies or poison oak! The Discovery Channel used Dismals Canyon as one of the locations for the film “When Dinosaurs Roamed the Earth” because of the similar foliage and pristine conditions found in the canyon. Jesse James and Aaron Burr hid out among the moss covered boulders and several Native American tribes called it home.

As you walk the trails you feel your body begin to vibrate a bit, you forget to talk and you remember to be grateful for our dear Earth home. We have facilitated group retreats and watched lives deeply touched by the high vibration of the canyon energy, as well as the highest concentration of negatively charged ions ever measured on this planet. To experience the sacred with a group is a practice in connection with Creation, an opportunity to grow in compassion and awareness of stewardship for the planet and each other.

There is a sign posted at Dismals Canyon that reads:
“Nature can live without man but man cannot live without nature”

Dismals Canyon is a true vortex spot, and might just be our most powerful and mysterious site.

Some of the Gaia Energy spots I've detected in Birmingham (starting around the Summer of 2001):
1) Pea Vine Falls, Oak Mountain State Park
2) Ruffner Mountain (an extension of Red Mountain)
3) Red Mountain (various sites- most on private land, and therefore shall remain secret).
4) The underground stream beneath the Thomas Jefferson Hotel in downtown Birmingham. I think this crosses a fault line, and I think the hotel itself is acting as a "tuning fork", thus creating a vortex.
5) Shades Mountain (the actual site of George Ward's former house- not the Temple of Vesta replica- along with various spots peppered throughout the suburbs covering the mountain's Southern Side).
6) Moss Rock Preserve (Hoover's Bluff Park neighborhood of Shades Mt.).
7) The Parks of Highland Avenue (notice the natural bowl shapes of the parks, which Mr. Olmstead strongly urged preserving AS parks).
8) Lake Purdy (a tiny island inside the lake)
9) East Thomas Gardens Lake (this one is HUGE)
10) Lane Park
11) Duck Island- Avondale Park
12) Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark (the complex "coincidentally" built atop the vortex- also "coincidentally", the spot where the two railroads converged that gave birth to "The Magic City").
13) The Riverchase Galleria (actually, the small hill that used to be at that site, but the energy remains).
14) Birmingham Reservoir- Hwy. 280 (man made)
15) Praco (extreme West Jefferson County near the Walker County line, off of Alabama Hwy 269, on Flat Top Rd.)

Many of these spots named above are associated with the architect D. O. Whilldin, and with Frederick Law Olmstead, Sr. and his sons. I encourage dowsers, sensitives and interested persons to check these places out and make their own evaluations.

In Alabama:
1) Wade Mountain and Big Spring Park (Huntsville)
2) The Walls of Jericho (Alabama/Tennessee Border @ Skyline Wildlife Management Area)
3) Big Tree (Sipsey Wilderness)
4) DeSoto State Park
5) Town of Fyffe

I feel the following areas to have vortex spots, too, although I've yet to check them out. Exploration in these areas would be extremely helpful:

1) Mobile-Tensaw Delta Wildlife Management Area
2) Bellingrath Gardens
3) The University of South Alabama campus
4) Bienville Square (Mobile's epicenter)
5) Moundville, Hale County (site of the largest city in North America from 1000-1450 A.D.)
6) Russell Cave National Monument (Jackson County, near TN state line).
7) Chewacla State Park, Auburn
8) Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge, Eufaula
9) Florala State Park, Florala
10) Frank Jackson State Park, Opp
11) Lake Lurleen State Park, Coker (Tuscaloosa)
12) Dauphin Island, Gulf of Mexico
13) Perry County: Marion; Perry Lakes Park & Wildlife Sanctuary/Marion Fish Hatcheries/Town of Sprott area; Lake Miriam (multi lakes region).
14) Scottboro
15) Oakville Indian Mounds Education Center, Danville (Lawrence County)
16) Indian Mound & Museum (Florence)
17) A section of Dothan bordered by Kornegay St., Massee Drive, Pearce St. & Vinson Drive.

There seem to be numerous powerful ley lines running through Birmingham as well: The strongest being a line running Northwest to Southeast from Montana to Burmuda; the University Blvd. Trunkline; and the Highland Avenue/12th Avenue Trunkline. The last two lines seem to run out of Ruffner Mountain. There are also ley lines that form equilateral triangles with the vortices acting as points. My guess is that the combination of iron ore, multiple bodies of water, streams and rivers plus other types of minerals might be causing this area to be so electromagnetically charged. Central Alabama's historic and prehistoric importance as a primary population center, coupled with vast mineral/biological/financial wealth, might also be explained by these natural upwelling forces from deep within the Earth's center. Hopefully, people experienced in this field will take it upon themselves to explore the area, which I think has energies to rival any found around the Golden Gate Bridge, Sedona or Asheville. These are different types of energies though, and affect individuals and populations quite differently than the vortex energies in other parts of the world.

I have been taking splenda for several months. Just lately I realized that the moles on arms and especially legs had increased.By a sudden impulse while visiting my doctor for something else I showed the increased moles to him on one leg. He pointed out that two of the moles did not look good, he sent one small part of one of them to the lab and it came back as pre- cancerous. Both moles have been removed since. No more splenda for me. stlgui stlgui - mulberry alexa bags.
